Residents opposed to kippax library site planned for next city block

On Monday, the city council asked the public to weigh in on whether a library closing is feasible.

“The library is a crucial resource for many people in Crown Heights,” the council voted Monday. “Our vision of an all-ages library provides a vital source of education for our citizens and is a vital resource for students as well as the city.”

On Sept. 1, when the library proposal goes before the council, the City Council members will consider approving or rejecting it.
