Racv pleads for calder highway funding boost in U.S. House

The latest developments are the latest chapter in a complicated battle among Republican governors in the states.

Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott will take his case to the U.S. Senate, the same chamber as the U.S. House of Representatives, Tuesday.

With some lawmakers still trying to determine where the issue should be headed from the start, the governor made his request on Monday.

A spokeswoman for Abbott’s office declined to discuss specific legislation that has been discussed, but she said that the governor’s position remains unchanged.

“Governor Abbott is committed to balancing the budget. He wants a responsible approach to dealing with our persisten바카라사이트t and mounting budget deficits,” spokeswoman Kelly Ward said. “We’re committed to passing a balanced budget with balanced and sustainable revenues and spending cuts. The Republican governor also supports a variety of long-term funding solutions.”

“The House leadership on Appropriations and Budget and the Administration have all agreed on their position on the needs, priorities, and funding needs for the State of Texanatyasastra.coms budget,” Ward said. “The Governor of Texas has made the same commitment, so the need for additional federal money and related revenue sources is not being ignored.”

Abbott spokesman Kevin Manley did not return calls seeking comment on whether Abbott plans to pursue legislation this session to fund transportation or flood mitigation projects for Texas counties, such as Harvey.

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who has championed the issue on Capitol Hill, said he’s hopeful that the governor is on board.

“I think he’s made clear, that he understands the urgency of funding these kinds of infrastructure improvements,” Cornyn said Monday on Fox News.

Cruz also wants a bipartisan solution, and while that’s not likely to happen, a bipartisan solution is possible, Manley said.

“It’s very possible the Republican Governors Association will stand with us, which I’d encourage all governors to do,” Manley said.

State Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Bedford, chairs the Republican Governors Association.

Brady said he is hopeful that the governor’s position still stands.
