Detroit police officials said that investigators will take a fresh look at video footage taken just before the crash — footage the Detroit Free Press obtained by an outside party — including a surveillance camera mounted on a helicopter as the plane neared the end of a training flight at the National Airport.

That video, including a helicopter’s view of the plane as it landed after takeoff and into a grassy area on the runway in Lake Huron, was viewed by a witness who happened to be on the flight.

Authorities say the pilot and another man from Detroit landed the plane safely, but it fell back down on the runway after another attempt.

The investigation continues. The plane had two passengers — one German, one Canadian and one American — registered with both the Federal Aviation Administration and the Federal Aviation Administration of Canada at the time. They were all from Michigan. They did not have identification with them at the time of the crash.

The plane has yet to be found. The crash happened about 1:45 a.m. near Interstate 75 and Nor바카라th Airport.

The crash is being investigated by the Detroit Police Bureau’s Special Investigation Unit, and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Transportation Safety Board has joined the investigation, said Police Chief James Craig.

There are currently no updates from investigators, Craig said.

The pilots are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
