Doubt cast over wagga mayoral election’s fairness

The Federa더킹카지노l Government’s decision not to pro바카라사이트secute the Gillard gov바카라ernment over claims it withheld funds for the failed 2010 Wagga mayoralty shows Labor will not be intimidated into complacency on the issue of fairness.

The Federal Government has ordered its audit of funding arrangements for the 2013 election that were “misappropriated” during a state election, an apparent reference to donations to a legal team led by disgraced former federal MP Stephen Dank.

Labor accused the Federal Government of breaching its solemn duty to act in the interests of the community.

The Labor Government in recent years had been scrutinising the 2012 and 2014 federal election campaigns over complaints over political funding arrangements.

In March last year, the Federal Court found it could not investigate the claims and ordered the Gillard Government to explain whether it had used funds allocated to political activity.

The review also ordered an investigation into how the Government’s $17 million budgeting scheme for Wagga was actually funded.

The Federal Government in recent years has taken steps to ensure politicians are never overcharged for services.

A Federal Cabinet committee is now working on reform of that system, with the introduction of a cap on the total amounts that can be spent on advertising, communications and other campaign spending.
